Using FTP / Uploading files to your web site

We recommend the using FTP software that can be downloaded from the Internet.  Most web site publishing tools include FTP capabilities and will work equally well.

  • Cute FTP is available for all Windows Platforms.

  • WS_FTP is available for all Windows Platforms and the Dec Alpha platforms.

  • Fetch is available for Mac/Power PC Platforms.

The Following Settings will be required to use FTP with our service.

  1. For Remote "Server", "Host", "Host Name" etc. Enter your IP address, do not use "http://", use only your IP address.

  2. If you have the option, "Host Type" should be "Auto detect".

  3. If you have the option, "Transfer Type" should be "Auto".
    Note: some cgi programs such as perl scripts should be uploaded / downloaded using ASCII text.

  4. Enter your sites Login name for the "User ID".

  5. Enter your sites Password for "Password".

  6. Do not select "Anonymous Login".

  7. Leave "Initial Directories", "Remote Directories" etc. blank.

  8. The "Port" should be "21".

  9. Use the default settings for the rest of available options.
